If you need support, this is the place to come. (If you need immediate or emergency assistance, call 911 or your local emergency number.)
Child and family services is a government and/or non-profit organization designed to better the well being of individuals who come from unfortunate situations, environmental or biological. People who seek or are sought after to participate in these homes have no other resource to turn to. Children might come from abusive or neglectful homes, or live in very poor and dangerous communities. There are also agencies that cater to people with biological handicaps. Child and family services may be mandated if:
- There is domestic violence in the home
- There is abuse or neglect in the home (emotional, physical, and/or sexual abuse)
Social services refer to a range of public services provided by governmental or private organizations. These public services aim to create more effective organizations, build stronger communities, and promote equity and opportunity. Social services include the benefits and facilities such as education, food subsidies, health care, job training and subsidized housing, adoption, community management, policy research, and lobbying.
