Video's Unparalleled Growth
If it were five years from now do you think you'd be reading this blog--or watching it?
Here's the thing: according to Cisco, by 2017, video will account for 69% of all consumer internet traffic. 69%! And video-on-demand traffic will have trebled. If that isn't rapid growth, we don't know what is!
With online video becoming the primary means for people to be entertained, educated, and--perhaps most significantly--buy and sell merchandise and services, small businesses that fail to include it in their internet marketing strategies are small businesses that aren't going to stay in business long. Nielsen claims that a tremendous 64% of marketers expect video to dominate their strategies in the near future.
Why? That one's easy: video reaches everyone, everywhere. The success stories of videos that have gone viral are legend. One of Volkswagen's video marketing campaigns saw three of its videos viewed a combined 155 million times. Now, most of us aren't Volkswagen--but with some work, any well-crafted video can go viral.
And video is naturally engaging and, in an age of information overload, it's vital for small businesses to offer content that is easy to digest; if not, consumers will simply move on. Video does this very well. If a picture paints 1,000 words... well, video paints 1.8 million of them.
And, as we know here at VideoAdds, creating a video is within everyone's grasp. Production costs have fallen significantly in recent years and you no longer need to be a technical whiz to work out how to use it.
We've seen the future. It's here. It's now. And it's video.
